Lorie Cress Obituary

January 22, 1944 to September 17, 2025

Lorie passed away peacefully in her sleep at he beloved Lake Tahoe home, the place she loved the most since her childhood.

Lorie enjoyed entertaining her family and friends with ease as she was a gourmet chef and hostess. Along with her husband, Cronan Cress, they shared many wonderful Lake Tahoe, Serrano, and Palm Desert joy filled gatherings.

Daughter of Hope and John Sheehy she was a Yuba-Sutter native. She realized her childhood dream of being a farmer owning and managing her Boyd family rice ranch in Sutter County, along with her Sheehy family farm in Watsonville, CA.

After working for several years at Sacramento State College, she decided to return to college, receiving her B.S. degree in finance at age 44. She used her degree as a real estate appraiser.

Lorie and Cronan enjoyed 45 years of marriage and many happy memories from traveling the world, hiking National Parks, touring America, and playing golf together.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hope and John Sheehy; and brother, John Jr.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on October 28, 2025, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Yuba City, CA.

Burial will be held at 10 AM on October 29, 2025, at Sutter Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
