Lynette Collins-Filter Obituary

September 30th, 1961 - May 5th, 2021

Lynette Renee Collins-Filter, went home to be with the Lord on May 5th, 2021. Lynette was born in Yuba City, CA, to Floyd and Shirley Collins. She graduated from Live Oak High School and then Yuba College with her A.A.

She met the love of her life Jerry Filter while she was driving tractor on his family's farm. They married and were blessed with two daughters, Jenny Filter Rocca and Bethany Filter Rhoades. Their family grew when she was blessed with grandchildren, Grady and Reese Rocca, who love their "GiGi."

Lynette was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, relative and friend to many. Lynette loved her family, friends and Jesus. She also loved life and took every opportunity to seize it. She could always bring a laugh or smile to someone's face and had never met a stranger.

Over the years she was faced with many health hurdles but she never gave up. God blessed her with more time, which she lived to the fullest making so many wonderful memories with her family and friends. She leaned on her unwavering faith in God during those difficult times.

Lynette was a homemaker for many years taking care of her girls. She also enjoyed driving truck on the family farm during harvest. She later worked for the USDA Farm Service Agency for 15 years as a Program Technician, where she so enjoyed helping her farmers. After retiring from USDA, she worked two years for the Bureau of Labor Statistics before finally retiring and battling cancer.

She also enjoyed serving her community through her service on the Sutter County RCD board and the Live Oak High School Foundation Scholarship Committee among others. Lynette loved to travel, hike, play tennis, snow ski, shop for good deals, and spend time with her friends and family. She also enjoyed talking on the phone.

Lynette is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Collins; sister, Connie Collins Zinn; niece, Emily Adams; and nephew, McQuaid Allan Zinn. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jerry Filter; daughters, Jenny Filter Rocca (Steven), and Bethany Filter Rhoades (Chris); father, Floyd Collins; sister, Lorie Adams; brother, Kevin Collins; two grandchildren; a niece; and two nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 28th, 2021, 10:00am, at Father's House located at 10720 Live Oak Blvd., Live Oak, CA 95953 with reception to follow.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers please provide donations to the Lynette Collins-Filter Memorial Fund at Golden 1 Credit Union. Donations can be sent to her family. The funds will be utilized for scholarships for local youth to further their education, which was one of Lynette's passions.

My deepest and most sincere wishes to the Collins and Filter families. Lynette was always the life of the party and lit up the room when she entered. You fought hard thru the pain but always kept such a positive attitude and made everyone else feel better when you were sick. I am proud to call you my friend and I will miss you, until we meet again.
Your friend forever,
