Mark Breeding Obituary

Mark was born on February 27, 1959, in San Jose, CA. He died on January 29, 2023, at his home in Live Oak, CA.

He was the son of John A. Breeding, Jr. (deceased) and Audrey M. Breeding of Live Oak, CA. Mark attended schools in Live Oak, graduating from Live Oak High School in 1977.

As a youth, he worked summers on his family's prune farm. In 1994, he became manager of the farm which he ran until his passing.

Previously Mark was owner and operator of Mark's Paint and Body Shop in Yuba City. In the last few years, he perfected recipes for barbeque sauce and dry rubs which he sold as Farmboy's Barbeque Sauce and Rubs.

Mark had many interests: He was a model train enthusiast and collector; he was interested in old cars, refurbishing and showing them. He was a photographer and sold some of his prints. He was an accomplished wood worker, making tables, house replicas, and more.

He is survived by his mother, Audrey M. Breeding; sister, Diane Breeding-Putman (Kevin); nephews, Daniel J. Putman and Justin E. Putman; and stepdaughter, Jeannie Schreib (Travis) and her family.

A private interment will be held at the Live Oak Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Spot in Live Oak, on Saturday, February 18, 2023, from 11am to 1pm.

Life has a hole now. Thank you for all of our childhood memories. Thank you for being a grandpa and great grandpa when you didn´t have to be. You made such a huge impact on all of us and you will never be forgotten and will always be missed. Playing Boston and The Beach Boys feels different now. I hope you are resting peacefully and we´ll see you on the other side someday.

Dear Audrey, Diane and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of Marks passing. He was one of my favorite customers when we had the fruit stand at Lomo. He kept us stocked with his barbecue sauces and rubs. I always enjoyed his visits. He was a very interesting guy. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Rest In Peace, Mark. We´ll see you down the road.
Sincerely, Sharon Schmidl-Thompson
