Myrtle Hudson Obituary
born December 24, 1919 in Tacoma, Washington. Myrtle was a longtime resident of Wheatland where she co-owned and operated a successful clothing store, HUDSON'S, with her husband Jim Hudson. HUDSON'S was located on Front Street in Wheatland, CA for approximately 65 years. Myrtle moved to North Carolina with "Jim's dog" Scout, after Jim passed away, to be near her granddaughter Tamara Benefiel.
Myrtle was a member of the River View Yacht Club and enjoyed house boating on Lake Englebright. She was also a member of the garden club, bridge club, Wednesday club, and Order of the Odd Fellows (member since 1949) Myrtle and Jim were also Charter Members of the Wheatland Supper Club for over 60 years. She was initiated into the Wheatland Eastern Star Friendship Chapter #48 on November 11, 1944 and became a 50 year member in 1994. In Myrtle's spare time she enjoyed gardening, cake decorating, Chinese cooking and extensive travel.
Myrtle is survived by her granddaughter Tamara Benefiel (Steve Benefiel) and greatgranddaughter Jennifer Benefiel all of Clemmons, NC.
Myrtle is preceded in death by her son Donald Hudson; husband Jim Hudson; three
brothers; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Monday, January 9, 2012 with a visitation starting at 9:00 am at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, 817 Almond Street Yuba City. A reception will follow at the Hudson residence: 609 2nd Street Wheatland, CA. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Rio Oso, CA.
Memorial contributions may be made in Myrtle's name to a charity of your choice.

I don't ever remember a time in my life when I didn't know Myrtle. The Hudsons were lifetime friends of my whole family. Myrtle was a great lady, and we will miss her.
