Paul Cameron Obituary

Paul Cameron was born October 31, 1962 in Marysville, CA. He passed away peacefully at his Anchorage home surrounded by his family on July 29, 2014, after fighting a brave battle with esophageal cancer for the last 16 months.

Paul is survived by his best friend and beloved wife of 22 years, Glenda (Kirkpatrick) Cameron, daughter Tiffany Cameron and son Treavor Cameron. He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Cameron of Anchorage. He leaves behind many, many friends and extended family members who will miss him deeply.

Paul's passions were his family and the great outdoors. He had a respect and understanding of nature and animals that ran very deep within him. His favorite toys were his boat and snow machine. They gave him an opportunity to see and do things most people only dream about. He was a walking, talking dictionary about Alaska. Prince William Sound was one of his favorite places. He was kind and generous, never failing to help someone in need.

Please join us in a celebration of Paul's life on Saturday, August 9 and 11:00 am at Witzleben Legacy Funeral Home at 1707 South Bragaw Street, Anchorage, Alaska. A reception will follow at the Cameron home at 1:00pm. To share words of comfort with the family please visit

To my husband, friend, the love of my life! the kids and I will miss you dearly.my heart is breaking apart as i think of you every day and tears fill my eyes. the memories we share for more then 30, i will never forget! all the friends, family and people you have touched with your kindness, your help and support. the adventures you share with your friends and family are unforgettable, and a story will always be told about you and the "no fear" you had to go up the highest mountain at Turnagain pass on your snow machine or in 3 foot seas out in Prince William Sound in your boat, the two places you loved the most,we will miss you with all our heart and soul, we all are grateful or being a part of your life, YOU WILL BE MISSED!!
I/we Love you and miss you.

Paul was more than a brother-in-law; he was also my friend & he is missed more & more everyday. It still doesn't seem possible that he is gone. I'm grateful I spent 2 weeks in Alaska last year, at the beginning of his battle with this unforgiving cancer. A great man was taken too soon, but he lives on thru his children. My heart is wrapped around Glenda, Tiffany & Treavor. Rest in peace Paul.

Paul, my friend. You were always a great friend and mentor that has taught me much, and I will forever miss your input on a wide variety of projects. You were an Alaskan of the highest order. Know this: We will be here to do whatever we can to help your family through any rough spots that may come. To me you were more than a friend, you were family! You will be missed. Rest in peace my brother.
Glenda, we are a phone call away.

Mrs. Ruth Cameron and family. We are so sorry for your loss. David went to school with Paul and talked to him a couple times over the phone in the past few years. We were neighbors with Mrs Cameron before she left to live with Paul in Alaska. Our heartfelt sympathy.

Glenda, I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that you feel the loving arms of Jesus around you and your family during this difficult time. Take comfort in knowing that because of him, we will all reunite someday in Heaven. That is God's promise. I will always love and miss you. I never got to meet Paul but I know he is at peace. Love you and I am keeping you in my prayers. Brenda

Paul will be forever in our thoughts and memories. I remember how he tried to recruit my help in getting my sister, Glenda to go on a date with him. My answer was always no, thinking him unworthy of my baby sister. In the end he won her over and they shared 22 years of adventure and love. You could not have asked for a better brother-in-law, husband and father. He was my son's favorite Uncle, Mathew loved his Uncle as much as he loved hearing his Uncle Paul tell his stories of growing-up in Marysville and his Alaskan adventures. No one could tell a story like Uncle Paul. You will always be with us...
