Steven Weinberg Obituary

Steven Jay Weinberg, age 60, of Chico, California, died on January 14, 2024, after a brave battle with several long-term illnesses. He was born on January 31, 1963, in South Bend, Indiana.

Steven is survived by his mother and stepfather, Rosanne and Mark Zeidler; his stepmother, Audrey Weinberg, his sisters Alisa Ajango and Wendi Scheer; his stepsisters, Margaret (Jerome) Fennell and Julie (Jerry) Myers; his nephews, Skyler and Kyle Scheer, Grant Ajango, and Christopher (Shannon) Garrett; his nieces, Lauren and Alison Ajango, Jessica Jakoubek, and Chelsea (Kevin) Teschner; Skyler's children, Chase Scheer and Skyler Scheer, Jr.; Jessica's children, Lynsie and Teygan Lusk; and Chelsea and Kevin's children, Jack and Ben Teschner; his aunt, Geraldine Scheer; and cousins, Alan Scheer, and Susan (Brian) Aoki; and their children, Jason and Matthew; his cousins, Sally (Frank) Durante and Dr. Tom (Debby) Wolvos; and their children, Alex and Hannah; and his faithful companion, his cat Callie. He was blessed to have been friends with Veronica Crabtree and David Ernstam for many years, and to have the friendship and assistance of Cory Stayner.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. Stanley (Jerry) Weinberg; his brother-in-law, Bradley Ajango; his grandparents, Arthur and Carolina Scheer and Bernice and George Weinberg; his uncles, Ralph Scheer and Alex Wolvos; aunt, Anne Wolvos; and his cherished cat, Caroline.

Steven graduated from S.E.L.F. Alternative High School in Irvine, California. He attended Liberty Bible Church for many years. He was thoughtful, kind and very funny, and had a passion for film, cuisine, and the Chicago Cubs.
