I have deep respect for Tom and Marilynn. Tom epitomized the saying, "Be The Best You Can Be". I'm sorry I will not be able to show my respect in person. Sincerely

My second Dad..... he took Kelly and me to Marriott's several times and never complained about our music; there were night time trips to Foster's Freeze for ice cream in our pajamas; he taught me to drive a stick when I was 14; so many memories of birthday parties at the cabin. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

First, I want to send my condolences to Marilyn, Tom, Jr., Kelly and their extended family on the loss of a husband, father, grandfather and friend.
I think Tom's obituary was very modest, considering his lengthy and amazing service to the CHP and the people of this state.
Tom & Marilyn were neighbors (around the corner) when we moved to Marysville after I was hired by the Marysville Police Department in Jan. 1968.
Tom was the local CHP Training Officer at the time and at some point started teaching traffic-related classes at Yuba College. After taking my first class from him, I took every class I could find that he taught.
He was an outstanding instructor and I learned a lot from his classes. He was a certified speed/skid and speed from metal compression expert.
His exams were often 11-13-pages long and he would apologize, saying he got carried away and to do the best we could. I still have my exam papers from his classes, which I have used as a Field Training Officer and Traffic Violator School Instructor. Tom inspired me to do my best and share my knowledge with others.
