Victor Bugarin Obituary

Victor L. Bugarin, 79, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Victor was a 1960 graduate of Anderson Union High School where he was a linebacker for the Cubs. After high school he began his career as a private investigator. He became a loss prevention manager for multiple stores in the Bay area. Victor also helped create the campus security team for DQ University, the first university established by Native Americans for Native Americans, in California .

Victor worked as manager for Albertson's in various locations around Northern California as well as King's Market in Live Oak before becoming an Iron Worker for Local 118 out of Sacramento. As an Iron Worker he worked at Folsom Prison teaching inmates the skills they would need to become Iron Workers. The projects he was most proud of were rebuilding the bridges in San Francisco after the Loma Prieta earthquake and helping build the Silver Legacy Casino in Reno.

After his retirement he spent his days painting cars for friends and even winning awards at local car shows. His weekends were filled teaching his grandchildren how to fish, work on cars and talking about the good ole' days.

Victor is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Gloria; his son Victor and daughters Lisa and Lena; grandchildren Michael, Mikkayla, Ava, Alex, Suzi, Tony and Cesar; great granddaughters Abigail and Rebecca-Jo; 3 sisters and 1 brother as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
