William Lewis Obituary

William Raymond Lewis, Jr., 64, of Rohnert Park, CA, lost his battle to cancer on January 20, 2023, surrounded by his family.

William, often referred to as Bill by many, but to family and loved ones he has always been referred to as Billy, Daddy, and Big Papa. Bill was born to William and Shirley Lewis on October 12,1958, in Conway, South Carolina.

Being born into a military family Bill and his siblings relocated every couple years until settling down in Marysville, CA, when his daddy retired at Beale Air Force Base in 1974. Bill attended Wheatland High School in 1974 and 1975, then went to Lindhurst High School where he graduated in 1977.

Bill completed the Radiology program at Yuba College in 1979, and went on to spend the next 40 years in the medical field. Working as the X-ray department Supervisor at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in Grass Valley, CA, he then became a Medical Software consultant for Quadra Med in 1995, that later became Harrison Computers, where he retired in 2021.

Bill was a loving husband, father, and big papa. Bill had 4 children that meant the world to him; Brandy, Cliff, Tessa, and Beau. As his kids were growing up Bill was active in their sports, schooling, and life as they became adults. Always available to provide life advice, a listening ear, or just to make you laugh. In 2004, he became a Papa and since has 5 grandkids; Hailee, Cadyn, Carsyn, Preston, and Emma, that loved hearing their Papas commentary when watching shows, sports, or movies.

When the opportunity presented itself, Bill never passed on the opportunity to spend time at Lewiston Lake, in Northern California, and fish if possible. He always looked forward to Sundays so he could go to church and watch his 49ers play during football season. He was a loyal fan of the local California professional sports teams and made it a priority to show his support when they were playing.

Bill was a faithful servant of the Lord and maintained his faith until his last day. He was a long-time active member of New Hope Church of Cotati, a supporter of The Wounded Warrior Project as well as The Disabled Veterans National Foundation. He never missed an opportunity to support our troops or our country.

Bill is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lewis; his children, Clifford (Emily) Lewis, Tessa (Mark) Meier and Beau Lewis; his grandchildren, Hailee Meier, Cadyn Lewis, Preston Meier, Carsyn Lewis and Emma Lewis; mother, Shirley Lewis; his siblings, Craig Lewis, Danny Lewis and Lori (Barry) Kent.

He is preceded in death by his father, William Lewis, Sr., and his daughter, Brandy Lewis.

Funeral services will be held graveside on February 17, 2023, at 12:00pm at Sierra View Memorial park in Olivehurst, CA, and a celebration of life will continue immediately after at Word of Life Church, 1229 Buchanan St., Marysville, CA.

Jimmie and I will miss Bill dearly. I know we will always treasure the time we had to visit with the family. It is comforting to know that he is with his daughter who also left this earth too soon. He is now free from his pain and worship God from Heaven as he did from earth. Our hearts are heavy that you went too soon. We will see you again in another life Bill.

RIP BILL. I know God needed a special angel. I know you will watch over all your babies here on earth but you get to hold your baby girl now in heaven. Till we meet again
