William D. Middleton, 88, passed away peacefully at his home in Lincoln, CA, on October 7, 2025. He was born in Yuba City, CA, on December 12, 1936.
Bill was raised in Wheatland, CA, and attended Wheatland schools. After joining the United States Army as a senior in high school, Bill was stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany, and Fort Benning, GA.
Following his military service, Bill returned to Wheatland where he farmed rice and walnuts, as well as, raised cattle and hogs. He also owned and operated Gallop Trucking and Middleton Trucking, hauling cattle and aggregate.
Bill and his wife, Judy, owned The Green Feedery, a nursery and feed store in Wheatland, CA, for several years. Bill was also a former member of the Plumas Brophy fire department.
Bill enjoyed going to Ft. Bragg, CA, where he had a second hideaway at Green Acres Campground for over 28 years.
When not enjoying life with his friends, Bill could be found on his boat, Fish Tales, fishing and crabbing on the open ocean.
Bill also loved tinkering with his old cars and hot rods, including the 1947 Dodge truck that he restored, and attending local car shows.
Bill's love, compassion, generosity, and kindness molded his personality as the gentle, caring man that he was. Never did he turn away from helping anyone in need. His love for the Lord kept him grounded.
