Doreen Kay Shearer Carrington Doreen Kay Shearer Carrington, age 66, passed away suddenly on December 26, 2022, on her way to see her family for a holiday trip. We lost a loving mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and a wonderful human being. Doreen dedicated her life to her children and was very proud of them all. She traveled all over the United States with her husband for work and pleasure. Her joy for life was unmeasurable. Doreen was a pillar of hope. Never saying a bad word about anyone. Each person she met, she touched. She always said to be kind to others because you never know what people's circumstances are or what they've been through. Rarely did she do anything for herself. Her life was always in the service of others. Doreen's sudden loss leaves a huge hole in our hearts and lives that will never be filled. We have lost her constant light and each day will be less bright without her. Doreen's message for her kids, Be Honest, Be Kind, Follow Your Dreams, Know I will always be there for you, Work Hard, Try New Things, Remember to Come Home, Know You Are Braver Than You Think and Loved More Than you Will Ever know. When you feel a warm breeze on your face, a butterfly, or a Hummingbird nearby you will know it was me. There are no words, no actions that can express how thankful we are to have shared a part of Doreen's short life. As we move forward, we will do our best to honor all the love, guidance, and intuition you have left with us. It's with sadness we say till we meet again. You will always be in our hearts. Doreen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Gayle Carrington; and her children, Nicholas Carrington, and Erin (Matt) Parrish; her beloved granddaughter, Penelope Estelle Parrish; along with a lifetime of collected friends. She is preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Allen; her parents, father, Dallas Clarence Shearer Sr.; mother, Blanch Estelle Roper Shearer; brother, David Shearer; grandfather, Godfrey Shearer; grandmother, Edna Gailliy; grandfather, Senter Robert Roper; and grandmother, Anna Maria Roper. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 765 N Court Street, Medina, OH 44256.
