JIMMY TERRILL HILL
Jimmy Terrill Hill, age 86, passed away on January 30, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Mary Niblack Baptist Church. Interment to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Jim was born in Shady Dale, Ok (Love County) and graduated from Marietta High School in 1956. He went to college at Southeastern on a basketball scholarship, and then transferred to Gainesville to continue to play ball. He married the love of his life, Sue Pletcher on August 18, 1962 at Springer, Ok. They lived in OKC for a short time before moving to Ardmore in 1964. That same year he and his cousin Bud, began the business of Bud and Jim Hill Paint Contractors where he continued to work until he was 80.
Besides being a doting Husband, Father, and BoBo, he was a man of many traits. He knew how to fix anything and was always the first to help anyone in need. He always made time for his children and grandchildren, never missing a chance to coach and attend any games as well as recitals, competitions, and school activities. He was a "winner", and he taught his family to work hard and always do their best. His motto was, "We practice to win, not to lose." If you were ever on a team of his or an opponent, then you already knew. He had a love for farming, gardening, fishing, basketball, golfing, reading, sitting on the porch, visiting with friends and family, and helping others. He was the leader of the family and a great example of what a Christian man should be. He never met a stranger and was a jokester to all who knew and adored him. He was saved when he was 12 at Shady Dale and continued to be a follower of Christ as a member of Mary Niblack Church for many years. He loved his church family and was always willing to help with any and all maintenance that his House of God needed.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Jay Hill and sister Rozelle Campbell. Jim is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sue Hill, 3 daughters Michelle and husband Rob Hill of Double Oak, TX, Holli and her husband Chris Anthony of Shawnee, OK, and Staci and her husband Jim Reynolds of Edmond, OK.
