RICHARD TAYLOR Obituary

RICHARD "RT" TAYLOR Richard "RT" Taylor, age 62, passed away on September 11, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Monday, September 15, 2025, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Wall officiating. Interment to follow in Durwood Cemetery. RT was born in Talihina, Okla. on January 5, 1963, to Cecil and Ahnawake Taylor. He attended Madill Schools. He then went to work for Hayter Tire for 8 years. He met the love of his life, Lorene Brown, at a church singing in 1980 and they were married on October 26, 1988, in Ardmore, Okla. RT went to work for Hu-Don manufacturing for ten years, working at Michelin for a time and then for the Chickasaw Nation until his retirement. In his youth, RT liked to exercise and lift weights. He loved to support his OU football. He will be remembered as a jokester and for giving people a nick name. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Douglas Jefferson, sister, Carolyn Taylor-Cryer, and niece, Kara Sampson. Richard is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lorene Taylor, children; Larissa Taylor Detar and husband Chris, Brandi Taylor, and Ryan Taylor. Five grandchildren; Braylin Frazier, Kenzley Frazier, Elliana Taylor, Dawson Burns, and Paisley Taylor. Sisters; Amber Postoak and husband Brandon, and Joyce Sampson, three brothers, Tody Taylor, Joe Taylor and Jon Taylor, and wife, Jennifer, Aunt Josephine Taylor and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tody Taylor, Jon Taylor, Ryan Taylor, Ross Sampson, Harold Marris, and Joe Taylor Visitation will be held on Sunday evening, September 14, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Griffin ~ Hillcrest Funeral Home, Ardmore. Condolences may be left at www.griffinhillcrest.com.
