George Hoffman Jr

George Hoffman Jr, 94 of Grand Blanc Mi, formally of Sterling, and Zephyrhills Fl. Passed away peacefully with family by his side Feb.11 2026 at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. George was born November 7, 1931, in Horton Twp. Ogemaw County Mi. to the late George H. & Myrtle F. Hoffman. He enlisted in the army and served 6 years, with much of that time in Alaska, which he loved. After his service he married Patricia Miller and her two children, Johnny & Connie, whom he raised as his own. They were married for 55 years until Patricia's passing in 2015. George was a quick friend to all he met and was loved by all who knew him. George worked for many years at the former Knights Mill Inc. in Sterling where he was foreman for his last 16 years there. After that he moved on to retire at General Motors after 25 years in the foundry there. George loved golfing, bowling, hunting, shuffleboard, and travelling with Patricia. They loved playing cards with friends and family and opened their home to anyone who came.

George is survived by his children, John Hoffman (Lisa Waterman) of Sterling, Connie Derakshandeh (Merhdad), of Grand Blanc. Six grandchildren, Samantha Ranger, Trisha Haiss, Scott Haiss, Kelly Howard (Paul), Chad Hoffman (Chrell), and Dusty Marie Sawgle. Great Grandchildren, Devin Hoffman, Kaylee Hoffman, Carson Sawgle, Alexandria Ranger, McKayla Ranger, Ronnie Patson III, Jaxson Goslin, Honesty Mcnew, Daniel Mcnew, Rain Hammon, Kaiden Neurohr, and Hunter Olsen. George also had two great, great, granddaughters, and many nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by His wife of 55 years, Patricia, His parents George & Myrtle Hoffman, 10 brothers & sisters, including Ila, Doris, Phyliss, Mary, Katy, Merle, Louie, Walter, Richard, and Glen.

A celebration of life for friends & family will be held at later date.
