Alfred Larson

Madison, SD - Alfred Larson, age 93, died at Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls on October 4, 2015.

Alfred Merle Larson was born on November 28, 1921 at Huron, SD to Fred and Julia (Christensen) Larson. He married Charlotte Trainor at Luverne, MN on June 1, 1949. She preceded him in death in 2001.

He is survived by one son - David (Vicki) of Brookings and two daughters - Julie (Don) Lyon of Mesa, AZ and Sandy (Jerry) Crisp of Sioux Falls. 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 16, 2015 at Weiland Funeral Chapel with Rev Heidi Kvanli officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Graceland Cemetery.

He grew up in Huron graduating from Huron High School in 1939. After high school he moved to Madison before joining the US Army. He served in Europe in the 1265th Engineer Combat Battalion during WWII retiring as a platoon sergeant.

He farmed North of Madison. He also worked at John Morrells and sold cars for Knappen Chevrolet.

The family will be present at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
