Ann L. Leslie

Sioux Falls, SD - Ann Leslie, 70, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Sanford/USD Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Funeral service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, March 24, at Memorial Lutheran Church, 5000 S. Western Ave., with interment next to her husband, Bruce, at Hills of Rest Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD.

The family will be present to greet friends from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Tuesday, March 23, at Miller Funeral Home-Downtown, 507 S. Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD.

Memorial may take the form of donations to Memorial Lutheran Church, 5000 S. Western Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57108 or The Special Olympics of South Dakota, 800 E. I-90 Lane, Sioux Falls, SD 57104.

Ann Louise Christian, daughter of George and Ida (Appel) Christian, was born July 5, 1950 in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up in Sioux Falls graduating from Washington High School in 1968. She then attended Southeast Area VoTech earning her certificate in Computer Data.

Ann began working with John Morrell and Company where she worked as an accounting clerk for 50 years retiring on August 19, 2019.

She was united in marriage with Bruce Leslie at Memorial Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, SD on January 10, 1971. They were blessed with one son, Chris. Ann was a wonderful and supportive mother and wife. Ann was always full of joy and had a contagious laugh. She loved the outdoors including camping and fishing with her family.

Ann was a great encourager of her family and everyone she encountered. She supported Special Olympics and was a bowling coach and helped wherever they needed help for several years.

They were longtime members of Memorial Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a member of the Minnehaha County Extension Club, and a member of the Genealogical Society. She volunteered many hours at the Courthouse helping people look up their family linage. She put together a Christian Family Tree Book for all her family and helped them update as information became available.

Grateful for having shared her life are their son, Chris, Sioux Falls, SD; her siblings, Helen (Duane) Hartmann, Sioux Falls, SD, Ernie (Annette) Christian, Holiday Island, AR, James (Karen) Christian, Brandon, SD, Bernard Christian, Sioux Falls, SD, Clara Langdon, Sioux Falls, SD; a brother-in-law, Roger Boldenow, Elk Point, SD; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ida Christian; her husband, Bruce in December 2020; her brother, Leonard Christian; a sister, Margaret Boldenow.
