Ayalew Zeleke Obituary
Ayalew Zeleke, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, died July 9, 2013, in Sioux Falls.
Ayalew was born in Gojjam, Ethiopia. He earned his Master of Science Degree in Engineering while in Germany. He came to the United States in the early 1990's, living in California. A short time later, he moved to Sioux Falls, SD, where he began working for John Morrell and Company. In the mid-1990's, he established IU General Store, his convenience store and laundromat business.
Ayalew was a kind and generous man. He helped a great number of immigrants as they moved to the United States. An honest man and loyal friend, Ayalew will be forever remembered for his goodness and his generosity.
Grateful for having shared his life are his brother, Belay Zeleke Abebe and his family; two other brothers and three sisters; and many other family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm Sunday July 14, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The interment will be from 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm Sunday July 14, 2013, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 2001 E. 12th Street, Sioux Falls.

Just lost another father. Ayalew was like a father and friend to me. very brave man, a leader with positive vision and positive words. I'll never forget you!

He always had a smile for me when I went to his store. Our conversations over the many years were truly meaningful...he talked about LIFE, and always saw a positive in every situation...He was my true friend, and I will miss him very much. My heart goes out to his family and all of his many very special friends that will dearly miss him
