Cass family, on this anniversary of your loss of Dave, know that my heart and prayers are with you. I look back on the memories of a bright, spontaneous and adventurous friend. Dave knew how to make me laugh and reminds me of happy days on the water with your family. I´m sorry this day is so very hard, but send my thoughts and support.

Joe, Amy, Mike & Abe, My heart broke the day my dad told me the news of Dave's death. He was a dear friend at O'Gorman and a beloved member of Catfish Bay Water Ski Team. I'm proud to say he only dropped me a few times from pyramids and was my encouragement the day your family taught me to barefoot. His smile and free spirit will be remembered. Know that your family remains in my thoughts and prayers.

Truly,
Lindsay LeMair Brooks (Whitefish, MT)

Cass Family
I had the pleasure of working with David at Red Cross. It was always a treat for me to find out he would be working the same site I was at. He was always full of life and laughter and always made work more enjoyable. I named him Diamond Dave after the first time meeting him. He was a Gem.
Rest in Peace my Friend

Cass Family,
I am heartbroken for your loss. Dave was one of the friendliest, and most genuine people I have ever met. Though brief, the few days I knew him, I grew close and he felt like family. I was miss him, but to me he is eternal for the good he spread around the world. He will live in my heart and all he ever got to meet.

I occasionally worked with Dave at The Red Cross, and I always loved it when he was there. I knew he always liked the busy mobiles as he just always had to keep moving. I enjoyed his work ethic. All of a sudden one day I heard he had left The Red Cross and I was saddened, but I always think of the young people going on to fulfill their lives with what they feel is more to their liking. I always think that maybe I will meet them on the street and say hello. Sadly I won't be able to see him again. I am so sorry for your loss. He is missed.

Dave, Since the day when you were 10 years old and scaled the downspout at our Phillips house to break into the house in the middle of the night "to visit Dakota", you've added color to our lives. Just 2 weeks ago we enjoyed your company at Lake Poinsett. It's hard to believe that would be the last time you jumped up and washed our dishes after dinner; the last time you would sleep on the sun porch with a pooch at your side; the last time we'd hear your crazy tales. This news was so shocking ... why can't there be "do-overs" in this life. I'm sure wherever you are people are laughing over your exploits on earth and trying hopelessly to best you at another game of can disc golf. I'll bet things are a lot more lively there since you've arrived. Too soon gone ...
