Eldora Carnahan Obituary
Sioux Falls - Eldora Carnahan, age 98, passed away on Nov. 14, 2020, at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. A memorial service will be held on Saturday Nov. 21, 2020 at George Boom Funeral Home & On-Site Crematory in Sioux Falls, SD beginning at 10:00 AM (CST). The service will be streamed live beginning at 9:55 AM. The link can be found in Eldora's obituary on at www.georgeboom.com. Inurnment will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis. Memorials may be directed to Avera@Home Hospice Sioux Falls, 4509 Prince of Peace Place, Sioux Falls, SD 57103.
Mourning her passing are her daughter Cheryl and son-in-law Steve Hahn of Rochester, NY; son Craig of Minneapolis, MN; nephew Bob Elder and niece Carole Ann Miller of Ohio; other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband "Carnie" in 2014. They had been married for more than seventy years.

11/8 I moved my 63 yo husband into a memory facility. He´s 8 years into his Alzheimer´s. One of the things I took to his room is a beautiful wooden tractor Carnie made for Tim a few decades ago. Love, kindness, compassion...it grows and spreads forever

I first met Eldora through my aunt, Hulda Dewald, in 1986, buying quilts made by Eldora´s mother. We continued corresponding, and visiting on two other trips to SD. She became friends with my mom and they also maintained a correspondence. I´m sorry I missed finding out about her passing sooner. She was a remarkable person, and my life is better for having known her. Her quilts and sewing continue to reside in my home, especially at the holidays.

When we moved toTripp Sd in 1980 Eldora and Carnie were owners of the jewelry store on main street. Eldora sold me a watch I have yet today. Those business owners during that time were the salt of the earth and made the community a wonderful place to live and raise our family. They worked tirelessly in keeping it alive! Their teamwork & generosity left a mark in our heart. Rest in peace Eldora.
