June Hoeye

Sioux Falls - June Hoeye, 91, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Bethany Home, Sioux Falls.

Private family services will be held.

June Irene Tilbury, daughter of George and Hazel (Bates) Tilbury, was born June 17, 1927 in Mankato, MN. As a young child the family moved around the MN, SD, NE areas with her father's work. The family settled in Esmond, SD where she received her education.

June was united in marriage with Gene Hoeye in 1944 in Esmond, SD. Gene entered the Army and June continued to work in the area moving to Huron, SD. They spent one year in Lake Benton, MN before moving to Sioux Falls during 1958 and 1959. In Sioux Falls she worked in housekeeping at Sioux Valley Hospital for a few years. She later worked at the Barrel Drive-Inn. Once all her children had grown up she opened an in home day care which she operated for several years.

June enjoyed painting ceramics for herself and family. She was a very giving person. She enjoyed traveling to visit her sisters and family reunions.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Kandy Hoeye, Sioux Falls, SD, Jeannie (Don) Victor, Rapid City, SD, Donna (Bob) Juber, Eldora, IA; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (Dan) McKillop, Gillette, WY, Helen Button, Huron, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was proceeded in death by her husband; three sons, James, Gary and Damon; six siblings, Edith, Avis, Cliff, Eva, Delores, and Gerald.
