Kevin Harty, 50, of Sioux Falls, died Friday, December 4, 2015.

The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, December 11, at Miller Funeral Home-Westside Chapel, 6200 W. 41st St.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday, December 12, at Westside Lutheran Church, 3901 Oklahoma Ave.

Kevin Thomas Harty, son of Kenneth and Bernice (Hartung) Harty, was born March 3, 1965 in Yankton, SD. He grew up in Lesterville, SD. He graduated from Scotland High School in 1983. He entered the United States Army where he served for two years. In 1985, he continued his education at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, SD. He earned a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics in 1989. In 1990, Kevin began his career at Midland National Life Insurance where he has worked since. He was married to Vanessa Daughters on September 19, 1996, and to this union was blessed with three children, Dylan, Alexis and Devin. Kevin loved to be a part of his children's lives and activities.

Kevin was united in marriage with Linda Carl on April 5, 2008. Kevin loved to cook, listen to music, and watch movies. His love for statistics was an incentive to be active in a fantasy baseball league, and was a fan of the Chicago Bears.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Linda Harty, Sioux Falls, SD; his three children, Dylan, Alexis, and Devin Harty, and their mother, Vanessa Harty, all of Sioux Falls, SD; his parents, Kenneth and Bernice Harty, Yankton, SD; two brothers, Tim Harty, Grand Junction, CO, Kelly (Cindy) Harty, Portage, WI; two sisters, Teresa (Willard) Holan, Yankton, SD, Kristi Kleinschmit, Olathe, KS; two nieces, Bailey and Kaylee; mother-in-law, Mavis Carl, Sioux Falls, SD; brother-in-law, Michael (Camille) Carl, Billings, MT; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; father-in-law, Ronald Carl; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Rogers.
