Lorraine Boer Obituary
Madison, SD - Lorraine Boer, age 87, died at Avera Prince of Peace in Sioux Falls on January 23, 2013.
Lorraine Harriet Langdon was born on April 30, 1925 at Watertown, SD to Archie and Hattie (Wohler) Langdon. She married William Boer at Abilene, TX on April 27, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1987.
She is survived by one son - Richard (Vickie) of Dallas, OR and one daughter - JoAnn (Jim) Olson of New Prague, MN. 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Two sisters - Marian Langdon and Lillian Anderson both of Sioux Falls.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons - Terry in 1945 and Larry in 1997.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Madison with Rev Warren Uecker officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Wentworth, SD.
She grew up in Sioux Falls graduating from Washington High School. After they were married they moved to a farm north of Madison where they lived until 1972 when they moved to Madison. She worked at Wenks Produce and at Dakota State University as equipment manager for the athletic department.
She was active in Our Savior Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday and Bible School and made quilts.
The family will be present at 7:00 PM on Friday at the Weiland Funeral Chapel which is in charge of the arrangements.
