Margaret E. Bisson

Age 98, of Jasper, MN, died Monday, July 11, 2016 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. Interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Jasper. Visitation will be Friday, July 15, 2016 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the church with a rosary at 7:00 PM and a prayer service to follow.

Margaret Emma Bisson was born on August 6, 1917 to Peter and Elizabeth (Carton) DeSplinter in Jasper, MN. She attended country school in District 36, Rosedell Township, Rock County, Minnesota through the eighth grade and then high school in Jasper. She grew up on the farm with one brother and two sisters. She also attended Schyler Beauty School in Sioux Falls, SD, to be a beautician. She was united in marriage on November 23, 1939, to Arthur J. Bisson at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. They farmed northwest of Jasper for 45 years and after their retirement they built a home in Jasper. Margaret devoted so much time throughout her life to being a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Following Arthur's death in 2001, Margaret continued to live and thrive at her home in Jasper.

Margaret was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper where she was a part of their altar society, CCW, and many other church activities. She was a project leader in 4H, enjoyed serving at the Senior Citizens Center, and delivering Meals on Wheels. She loved baking and cooking, bowling, golfing, playing cards, and attending gatherings of the Red Hat Society. She was a prayer warrior and also enjoyed sending cards out to family and friends. For many years, Margaret and Art enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, AZ. Margaret was always a very positive, sweet, kind, loving person and always thankful for everything. Most of all her passion was caring for her family; her love, prayers, and generosity will never be forgotten.

Margaret was survived by her 13 children, Ron Bisson, Sr. of Minnetonka, MN, Carl (Tracy) Bisson of Savage, MN, Joan (Steve) Larson of Green Valley, AZ, Elizabeth Dockstader of Mesa, AZ, Mary (Gary) Knewtson of Brooklyn Park, MN, Pete (Maurine) Bisson of Sioux Falls, SD, Roberta Bisson of Sioux Falls, Petrine Bisson of Dell Rapids, SD, Tom (Beth) Bisson of Jasper, Veronica (Brad) Wille of Northfield, MN, Paul (Mary) Bisson of Sturgis, SD, Ann (Kevin) Miller of Brandon, SD, and Teresa (Kevin) Davis of Sioux Falls; 36 grandchildren, Ron Bisson, Jr., Stephanie Belseth, Mary Bisson, John Bisson, Katie Bisson, Ryan Bellmont, Reed Bisson, Jackie Dietzler, Melissa Savage, Brent Larson, Kelly Knewtson, Katie Deibele, Emily Neubauer, Chad Bisson, Sara Taubert, Jill Pedersen, Tara Miller, Andrew Bisson, Michael Bisson, Matthew Bisson, Laura Wilkison, Rachel Wille, David Wille, John Bisson, Bill Pike, Angela Ellingson, Daniel Pike, Benjamin Pike, Jordan Pike, Jenna Pike, Jacob Miller, Zachary Miller, Trevor Davis, Tyler Davis, Tanner Davis, Tessa Davis; and 55 great-grandchildren; one sister, Roberta (Jim) Moran of Sun City, AZ; and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Arthur; her parents; one brother and sister-in-law, LeRoy and Adeline DeSplinter; a sister, Sister Petrine DeSplinter; and one daughter-in-law, Anne Hunter Bisson.
