Sioux Falls - Myron Jensen, 92, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021, at his home in Sioux Falls. A memorial graveside service will take place at a later date when gathering concerns have ceased. Memorials may be directed to the Sioux Falls Humane Society.

Myron Jensen, son of J. Alfred and Mabel (Horst) Jensen was born April 25, 1928, in Worthington, Minnesota. The family moved to Sioux Falls in 1942 and he has resided here since. He graduated from Washington High School in 1945. At a young age, Myron traveled and worked in many hotels from Maine to Montana; and was a general contractor for residential and commercial properties and a real estate investor. He served in the National Guard with the 147th Field Artillery. Myron was united in marriage to Joyce Miller on July 13, 1950. He was a co-owner of the Grand Hotel in Muscatine, Iowa. Myron was one of the first Non-Government Urban Renewal contractors and investors in Sioux Falls. He enjoyed snooker, hunting, sports, and teaching many of the younger generation a trade. It was a rare occasion for anyone to beat him in a game of snooker. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a friend of children, dogs, horses, and anyone who needed help. His civic involvement included: Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, and the Carpenter's Union. He was a partner with Rex Potter as the first sheet rockers and tapers in Sioux Falls. He was a Master Carpenter, Electrician, Plumber, and Operating Engineer. He was also President of Jensen Hotel Co. Myron was a member of East Side Lutheran Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Deborah (Dave) Krell of Sioux Falls, Laura (Brad) Wagner of Renner, SD, and Dawn (Rob) Ferrell of Yankton, SD; brother-in-law, Alvin Obermoller of Worthington, MN; grandsons, Matt (Sharla) Krell of Vermillion, SD, Simon (Kate) Ferrell of Kansas City, MO, Elliot Ferrell of Yankton, Spencer (Tonya) Ferrell of Omaha, NE, and Phillip (Katie) Wagner of Sioux Falls; great grandchildren, Paige Krell, Jack Krell, August Ferrell, Henry Ferrell, Penny Ferrell, and Calvin Wagner; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joyce in 2004; brothers, Waldo and Lester; and sisters, Lucille Obermoller and Meryle (Eugene) Lodermeier.
