Shirley May Harrod
September 4, 1935 - April 23, 2025
After a brave battle with dementia and heart disease, Shirley May (Romine) Harrod died peacefully in her sleep on April 23, 2025. She was surrounded by family in a local care facility as she peacefully joined her beloved husband, Robert Harrod, in Heaven. Shirley was born in LaGrande, OR on September 4, 1935 to Oliver and Carrie May Romine. She grew up in LaGrande and attended Eastern Oregon College, where she met Bob Harrod. They were married on September 12, 1954. They lived most of their married life in Vale, raising their two children, Robert Jr and Lynn Ann. Shirley was the secretary at Vale Elementary School for 21 years. She was active in the community and in the Vale Christian Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Gering, Heart and Home Hospice, and the staff at Wellsprings for their support and care.
