Walbert Farmer
Walbert "Walb" Baxter Farmer, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on October 24, 2025. Born on April 21, 1940, he was the beloved son of the late Baxter and Tressie Farmer.
Walb was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Herbert, Hubert, Allen, Ivan, Maxine, and Chessie. He is survived by his sister, Janice Greer of Kannapolis.
Walb shared 61 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Linda Greer Farmer. Together they raised two loving children: Keith Farmer of Tennessee and Sarah Goodman (Tony) of Jefferson. He was a proud grandfather to Tucker and Emma Goodman, who brought him immense joy. He is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.
A proud veteran, Walb served his country in the United States Army.
Walb's home was always open and filled with friends, family, laughter, and the spirit of fellowship. Known for his love of a good trade, he dealt in just about anything-guns, dogs, knives, coins, and whatever else caught his eye. You never knew what he might come home with-once even arriving with a pony in the backseat of his car, a story fondly remembered by those who knew him best.
Above all, Walb loved the Lord with all his heart and never missed an opportunity to share his faith with others.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Medi Home Hospice, especially the compassionate nurses, aides, and caretaker Cindy Price, who became like family during his final journey.
Memorial contributions may be made to Medi Home Hospice (P.O. Box 421, Jefferson, NC 28640) or to The Gideons International, causes close to Walb's heart.
