Carl Heugel

CARL HEUGEL Carl Heugel, 41, Atchison, Kansas, died Monday, July 22, 2024, at his residence. A memorial service will be Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church (2101-10th Ave.; Leavenworth, KS). Visitation with the family will be from 9:30 10:30 A.M. at the church. Interment will be at Larkinburg Cemetery in Larkinburg, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Heugel family or Trinity Lutheran Music Program and may be left in the care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home. Carl was born October 8, 1982, in Leavenworth, Kansas, the son of Glen and Lorene (Childress) Heugel. He attended Salt Creek Valley School in Leavenworth County and graduated from Leavenworth High School in 2001. He later attended Northeast Kansas Technical College obtaining a certificate in welding in 2007. Carl was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Leavenworth. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Carl was a skilled gardener, and in his youth, he enjoyed working on the farm with his family. He was always quick to help out others, especially with tasks around the farm. He had a good ear for music and loved playing cards with friends. Carl is survived by his brother, Charles Heugel, Atchison, Kansas, two Aunts, Connie Holmes, and Hazel Campbell, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Lorene Heugel, a sister, Kathy Heugel, an aunt Carol Underwood, and his grandfather Carl Heugel.
