Curtis Rector Obituary
He was born March 7, 1931, in Rockport, WV, son of the late Harold Curtis and Orma Ann Robinson Rector. Curtis was a 1950 graduate of Parkersburg High School and retired from AEP-Poston Plant in Athens and AMPO of Marietta. He was a Boy Scout Master and a 32nd Degree Mason with Mt. Olive Lodge #3 with 66 years of service. He was a member of the Belpre Church of Christ and enjoyed his Wednesday and Saturday morning breakfast at Athens McDonalds with friends. After retirement, he and his wife loved to be snowbirds in their 5th wheel in Sun City, Florida.
He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 74 years, Mary Lou Brafford Rector; 3 children, Douglas (Terrie) Rector, Connie (Mark) Kaufman and Bryan (Cindy) Rector; 6 grandchildren, Melissa (Jack) Green, Virgil (Carri) Rector, Cortney (Jesse) Seaton, Jared (Heather) Kaufman, Lindsey (Greg) Lemenchick and Matthew (Cara) Rector; 9 great-grandchildren, Makayla (Jesse), Hunter, Rylee, Keanu, Halle, Gavin, Evelyn, James and Allyson; one great-great-granddaughter, Lilly Mae.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marvon; a brother, Gene Rector and 2 sisters, Lena Knopp and Helen Riley.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at White Funeral Home in Coolville with Ron Laughery officiating.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 11 AM until time of service.
