Eldon Smart Obituary
Eldon was born Oct. 21, 1937, in Buchtel to Elmer and Mabel (Staten) Smart. He worked on cars most of his life, operated Smart's Garage in Nelsonville for several years, retired after 10 years from the City of Nelsonville Water Department and was a member of the Nelsonville Elks.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Joyce A. Smart; children, Kathy Smart and her longtime friend, Glen Robson, Ricky K. (Melyn) Smart and Christina Bradley; grandchildren, Jereme Harden, Lacie Jo (Harden) and Yehreen Collins, Bryan Smart and Teara Harpen; great-grandchildren, Tristan, Bryleigh, Alyssa, Azariah, Austin, Aaron, Aamon and Dontae; brother, Robert Smart; sisters, Shirley McKnight, Yvonne Struble and Shane Smart; and many nieces and nephews.
Eldon was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen Pettit, Audra Hoy and a baby girl; a baby brother; grandson, Kyle Smart; and great-grandson, Osias Collins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home in Nelsonville with Rev. Dave Shoemaker and Pastor Tim Poling officiating. Burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery in Logan.
Calling hours will be observed 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. An Elks memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
