Esther Cline Obituary
Born at Albany, Sept. 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Delmer and Thelma Green Bolin. Esther's favorite pastime was singing. She was a song leader in Weaver Chapel Church for many years. In the 1950s, as a teenager, she sang country music at the WWVA Wheeling Jamboree and her stage name was "Sally Jo." Many friends and family continued to call her Sally. She loved visiting Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and she and Alfred would make several trips there each year.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Alfred, daughters Claudette (Greg) Saylor of Albany, Claudia (Greg) Haning of Albany, Donna (Phil) Hawk of St. Clairesville, Denise Cline Powell of Albany and a son Craig (Fran) Cline of Albany. Esther loved her 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Robert Bolin, a sister Maxine Bolin Baker, and a son-in-law John Powell.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Stewart officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 1 p.m. until time of services. Per her request cremation will follow services. You may sign her register book at www.bigonyjordanfuneralhome.com.
