Michael Collins

Athens Michael "Mike" Collins, 63. Athens, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday January 18, 2025, in The Ohio State University Hospital.

He was born January 10, 1962, in Athens, the son of the late Donald G. and Louise Beal Collins. Mike graduated from Athens, Joined the Military in 1980.

He served as a Iraqi Freedom Veteran, retiring in 2007. He was a member

Of Albany VFW Post 9893, Albany Amvets 93, and the American Legion KT Crossen Post 21,

He was a member of Albany Global Methodist Church. He was also an avid outdoorsman, and farmer.

He is survived by his wife Allison Oliver Collins, children Lee Michael., Michele Gehring,

Casey (Ashley), stepchildren Charles Penix "Cassey", Andrew Dempsey (Emma),

Several grandchildren, siblings David and Lillian, Richard and Joyce, and Jeffrey and Margaret, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends David and Jeanne Flecher of Missouri.

Preceded in death by parents, brothers Dean, Gene, and John, nephews

Anthony E. and Kristopher Michael Collins.

Visitation is Saturday January 25, 2025, 11 - 1:00 P.M, the funeral service is

at 1:00P.M. at Bigony-Jordan Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Stephen Sparling.

The burial will be in Athens Memorial Gardens, Military Graveside Services will be by Albany VFW Post 9893, Albany Amvets Post 93, and Athens American Legion Post 21.
