Arthur Long Obituary
Warwick, MA - Arthur Charles Long of Warwick, MA passed away on Saturday September 30, 2023 after a courageous battle with a lung disease.
Born in Dorchester, MA on October 15, 1942, Arthur leaves his life partner Ann Kendall of Warwick, his former wife Ann Miller of Orange, their son Liam Long, his wife Christy Long and their son Liam Golden Long of Lexington, MA.
Arthur was involved in the construction industry for more than 60 years as a carpenter, founder of a contractor's buying service, and longtime employee and manager at Hamshaw Lumber in Orange. Arthur served on the Warwick Planning Board, Zoning board of Appeals and played guitar and piano with a variety of local musicians over the years.
Arthur was a caring and well-loved member of his community and will be greatly missed.
A pot luck "Party for Artie" will be held at the Warwick Town Hall on November 11, 2023 from 5 to 9 pm where all can share their favorite stories of their lives with Arthur while listening to his favorite musicians play tunes.

To The Long Family;
Last week I found out about Arthur´s passing. When I was young he took me under his wing and taught me about the new Apple PC and I worked for him creating a list of contacts. I had chosen to leave home and my family lived in Canada. I always considered him one of my favorite people because he cared about me and my future. When I had my Son, he helped me to get an apartment.
Liam, please know that you are his greatest love. He is so proud of you.
Remember; Love is Energy and can Never be destroyed. It just becomes a different form. He will always be near.

To Dearest Ann, I am very sorry to hear of Arthur´s passing. I am going to miss our visits and the stories we shared. I had no idea until this evening, I can only hope that you will enjoy your memories.

I wish to extend warm sympathy wishes to Ann and other close friends and family. Arthur was a member of our extended Butterworth Farm family and played a role in helping us build and expand and complete our homes here in the woods of Royalston. A "Party for Arty" sounds like a good idea, and I hope to attend.
