Joseph Goodbrake Obituary
Baldwinville, MA - Joseph Goodbrake, 46, of Baldwinville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, from his battle with cancer.
Born in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, on August 2, 1978, he was the son of the late Edward and Nancy (Guala) Goodbrake. He graduated from William Floyd High School with the Class of 1996. He relocated to Massachusetts from New York in 2000. At the time of his death, Joe was a master electrician employed by JP Electric and Sons Inc. of Fitchburg for over a decade. Prior to that, he was the proud owner of his own electrical company, Goodbrake Electrical Services.
Joe's love for skydiving was a defining part of his life for 20 years. He earned his first skydiving license at MSPA, DBA Jumptown in Orange, where he went on to obtain his D license, Coach rating, and finally his Tandem rating. Joe had a gift for making others feel safe with him, which is demonstrated by the thousands of people who let him throw them out of an airplane at 13,500 feet in the air, trusting him with their lives.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Caitlin Goodbrake of Easthampton; his ex-wife and daughter's mother, Catherine Goodbrake of Millers Falls; his brother, Christopher Goodbrake of Leominster; a nephew, Christopher Goodbrake Jr. of Leominster; and two nieces, Amber Goodbrake and April Goodbrake of New Jersey; and several cousins.
A Celebration of Joe's Life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Great Wolf Lodge, 150 Great Wolf Drive, Fitchburg, MA.
