To the Family of Toy Caldwell-Colbert,
I met and spoke with Link Toy just once while attending an Area Conference of The Links, Inc. in Cleveland Ohio. She was so very kind to me, as I was a lone delegate from the Tri-City Chapter. But she took the time to befriend me. To be honest, I did not know of her academic standing or her numerous accomplishments. Surely, she was a humble person. She encouraged me to be a better person in just that short time, and I never forgot her. I just read of her passing. My heart is very heavy and I can only imagine the loss that all of you must feel. Please know that you are in my prayers. God bless you.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. A. Toy Caldwell-Colbert. I worked on the President's Advisory Search Committee that helped to select her as the Provost for Howard University. Her impact far exceeded her brief tenure. She was/is an inspiration to all of us who endeavor to break through the dismal ceilings of limitation that are brandished by proponents of sexism and racism. "Toy," your labor was not in vain. The greatest among us are also the most gentle.

To The Family of Toy Caldwell-Colbert: Toy was a great inspiration to all in the field of Education and Mental Health. She worked with me on a multidisciplinary team in the past devising and monitoring appropriate programmes of treatment, including therapy, counseling and advice.
