When I was a teenager, Pastor Kilpatrick and Abbie Jean inspired me to love and serve Jesus Christ. Abbie Jean continued to faithfully support me for forty years during the time I served as a missionary in Ghana West
Africa. She corresponded faithfully with me during those years. I have sweet memories of the times we visited with each other when I was on furloughs. I treasure most my latest three contacts with Abbie. Abbie was always the same. What a joy to spend a day with her at The Oaks in Hoschton, Ga. I treasure the last letter she wrote to me. Abbie never lost her sense of humor. The last time we spoke together on the phone she spoke of how soon she would be with Jesus. I know she is now rejoicing in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ, and her dear husband, Harold, and not to mention all her dear family and friends in Christ who have gone before. She was willing to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. (2 Cor.5:8) "and so shall we ever be with the Lord (1 Thes 5:8.)
Thank you, Lisa, for calling me to let me know that Abbie Jean is now in heaven. I loved the wonderful tribute written about her unique life. It so perfectly covers all the qualities that made Abbie Jean so very special. A lady whom God had blessed with many gifts, and a lady who glorified God with all her heart and gifts.
