Adam Pearce Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
PEARCE, Adam Adam Andrew Pearce, age 28, formerly of Snellville, GA now of Atlanta, GA died tragically on Sunday, May 17, 2009. Adam was a 1999 graduate of Shiloh High School and was a member of one of the Marine Battalions that fought in the battle of Fallujah west of Baghdad in March of 2004. Survivors will be announced later. Adam's family wanted his friends to know that A Service Celebrating the Life of this remarkable young man will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Leesburg Cemetery East, Leesburg, GA (near Albany, GA) with Marine Honors. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Condolences may be viewed or sent to www.wagesfuneralhome. Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, LLC, Snellville, GA 770-979-3200 is in charge of arrangements.

I met Adam in Hawaii when I was 12 years old and stayed pen pals with him for years. He was such a special friend to me. I wish I had gotten to see him as an adult- I know we would have had a lot of fun together. He will be truly missed. RIP Adam. I love you.

I don't think I ever met Adam, but I have been impressed by what I have read of his life, especially the military service. I am the widow of LTC Robert W. Ford (known to the Ford family as Warren), the middle son of Ray and Mable (Pearce) Ford. I know that my husband and others in the Ford family who have gone on before us have welcomed Adam in eternity and that they have already started talking military. My condolences to all the family. Such a sad event when he survived so much in Iraq.

Adam, I am so glad that we got to meet and talk this weekend. Being a fellow Marine and Iraq veteran, he opened up to me and shared many of his experiences over there. He told me that it felt so good to talk with someone who was there, someone who understands. He is a wonderful man and will be greatly missed by everyone he has touched. Semper Fi Adam!!!

Drew, I remebering keeping Adam and Jay Ford so everyone could go to your Dad's funeral. Such sweet babies they were! I am so sorry for your loss. I just hope he will find your Dad and my beloved Nannie and seek comfort with them. Please, let me know if I can do anything for you.

Our family knows Adam's grandmother. When my son was diagnosed with leukemia, Adam sent him an encouraging letter from Fallujah, Iraq. It meant a lot to my son that Adam, who he never met, reached out to him. Adam's kindness toward a person he didn't even know was touching. Our family is saddened by this loss, and we are keeping his friends and family in our thoughts.

I did not personally know your son, but oh how proud you must be that he lived, from what I can read, a life of serving. It sounds as if he would have done anything for anyone, and we need more people in this world like that. I am sorry to hear that his life was cut so short, but God has great big plans for him. Randy and I were impressed by Adam's appreciation for wood and craftsmanship, and by his willingness to be a mentor to my son, Jay Evans. Adam was a great friend. Adam allways had a good head on his shoulders and there was not much that he could not do when he set his mind to do it.
