Family-Placed Death Notice

BLAKER, Ann Ann Tempel Blaker, of Social Circle, passed away October 12, 2011, at the age of 60. She was an active member of The Church of the Good Shepherd, and taught school in Social Circle. She was involved in women's activities at her church. Mrs. Blaker enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, golfing with her husband and son, and was a member of several different book clubs. In the last year of her life there has been a group of 40 friends, "Ann's Angels", who have visited and helped care for her. Mrs. Blaker is loved, and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Basil Tempel. Survivors include her husband, Roger Wade Blaker of Social Circle; son, John Tempel Blaker of Oxford, MS; mother, Hazel C. Tempel of Oakland City, IN; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Kay Lynch of Social Circle; mother-in-law, Eloise Shepard of Decatur. A Memorial Service for Mrs. Blaker will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2011, 2:00 PM, at The Church of the Good Shepherd, with Rev. Father Timothy H. Graham officiating. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, Monday, October 17, from 5-7 PM.
