Anne Kathryn Piehl

Piehl, Anne Kathryn 12/28/1947 - 5/28/2016 Dexter, Michigan Anne Kathryn Piehl (ne Hubbard) died in her home on May 28, 2016 in Dexter, Michigan due to complications from cancer of unknown source. She was 68. Anne was born on December 28, 1947 in Pontiac, Michigan to Bruce and Caroline Hubbard. She married Rodger Phillip Piehl of Bridgman, Michigan in 1968 while both were attending the University of Michigan. Rodger's career in power plant engineering and construction took them across the country and finally back to the Ann Arbor area. Over the years Anne worked part time as a dental hygienist. She retired in 2013 and continued her volunteer work and nurturing her family. Anne is survived by her husband Rodger, daughters Kristin Rodzinka and Kathryn Koch, and four grandchildren. Anne was a synchronized swimmer in high school, a graduate of the University of Michigan with a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene, a good doubles tennis player, a great water and snow skier, a most competitive card player, a volunteer in all manner of organizations and churches over the years, an accomplished gardener, a devout Episcopalian, and most important, a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. A memorial service was held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, Ann Arbor, Michigan, on June 11, 2016.
