1946 - 2018

Arthur Mac Dorton, Jr. was born October 11th, 1946, and he ended his earthly journey on Sunday, May 27th, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Lois Dorton of Scottdale, GA. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Sue (Willis), daughter, Paige Watkins (Randy) of Newnan, GA, son, Keith Dorton (Anna) of Dacula, GA, and four grandchildren - Aaron, Alex, Brenna, and Amelia. He is also survived by his brother Rodney Dorton (Leslie) of Monroe, GA, sister Jean Stixrud (Thomas) of Rosman, NC, brother-in-law Elmon Willis (JoAnn) of Snellville, GA, sister-in-law Brenda Bradford of Jasper, GA, sister-in-law Gina Willis of Charlotte, NC, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mac graduated from Avondale High School ('64), served in the U.S. Army 2nd Armored Division (May '67- May '69), and graduated from DeKalb Technical College ('72). He retired from DeKalb County Public School System in 2005. Arrangements are: Visitation 6-8pm Wednesday, May 30th, 2018 at Tom M. Wages Funeral Home, Snellville, GA; Memorial Service 11am Thursday, May 31st at Ingleside Presbyterian Church, Lawrenceville, GA; Committal Service 11am Tuesday, June 5th, 2018 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
