Family-Placed Death Notice
WHITAKER, Arthur, Jr. Mr. Arthur Whitaker Jr., age 84, of Atlanta, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2011. He was the son of Arthur, Sr. and Lucile Miles Whitaker. Graduate of Washington High School, a successful businessman, owner of a dry cleaning and laundry establishments, retiring from Kirkwood Dry Cleaning and Laundry in 2005. He is preceded in death by his sons, Courtney and Everett; sister, Arabella George; brother, Lorenzo. He is Survived by his wife of 52 years, Dr. Barbara Ingram Whitaker; two daughters, Deirde W. Priester and Fawn Olivia; daughter in law, Sherrise (Wiggins); two granddaughters, Deshawn Haywood and Lauren; grandson, Courtney; great grandson, Brian Michael Haywood; nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. A Graveside/Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 1PM at ForestLawn Cemetery, 5755 Mallory Rd. College Park, Ga, 30349. (Garden of the Saints) The Rev.
