Dr Yancey was the first Dr I ever heard of in my household growing up as a child . My Grandmother was a patient of his and also my mother. He is to be honored . He took care of most of the citizens in Vine City . I will make sure my 3 year old daughter do her first black history school report on Dr Yancey . He is admired and was loved by the community. He is an inspiration and always will be to the African American citizens of Atlanta .
With love from all the lives you saved and touched. Thank You . Mary Potts and family ; Atlanta ,Ga

Dear Carolyn, Asa, and Arthur,
My sympathies to all of you at the loss of your Dad. He was such a wonderful man and a excellent Doctor. The first surgery I ever had was performed by your Dad. He was so comforting and assuring. I was in High School at Northside at the time. We were all lucky to have him in our lives. I am glad our parent's were good friends and even though it has been years since I have seen you, I send you love from my heart and blessings that God will hold you near and dear in this difficult time.
Most Sincerely,
Patricia Shropshire

Carolyn: Please know that Fran and I are keeping you in our thoughts and our prayers. Your Dad was a physician everyone wanted to have treat them. His courage and devotion to making things better was unmatched. He made things better for all of us. I continue to believe that if we live as though death is the worst thing that can happen to us, we lose the zest for living. Your father had a zest for living and his legagacy lives on in all of you. Peace and blessings. Paul and Fran Smith, Montgomery Village, MD
