If we are lucky, we meet special people for whom you are always thankful they are in your life. Bertha was one of those people. I worked with her for 5 years but had the good fortune to call her a friend for almost 25 years. I will dearly miss her.

Brandi & family,
Bertha was truly a special person. She was such a joy and inspiration and always concerned about the education of the young people at Mount Zion. I will cherish the fond memories and will eternally be grateful for the impact she had on "The reader". She is no longer concerned with the troubles of this world...she's gone home..to be with her Lord. To God Be the Glory!

To The Family of Mrs. Bertha Hatchett,

There are no words that can express the profound loss that I feel. Bertha had an impact on my life from the first day she came to Mount Zion, and she and her daughter, sat next to my daughter and I.

As I write this I shed tears with what use to be tears of selfish sorrow by wanting to keep you here. But, I shed tears of joy, joy knowing that you are somewhere sitting and singing next to Arlene, as you did on the choir stand, only now, around the throne of God.

Brandi and other family members, God decided on Friday September 28, 2012 to complete his lovely bouquet with the best. No matter where Bertha saw you or talked to you, she had a word of encouragement for you. God is able, He's able. He can console you, comfort you, hold you, and even let you use His shoulder to cry on. Bertha was truly a woman of God who will definitely be missed, but not forgotten.

I am praying that you are comforted by the wonderful memories. Cherish them.
It can be so hard to face the first Thanksgiving and Christmas, and yes Mother's Day without your mom, sister, grandmother, aunt, God Mother and friend, but the great love of God, family and friends can carry you through.

It takes a village to raise a child. I am appreciative for Bertha Hatchett being a part of that village with my daughter Torrieona and I. To the family. THANK YOU for sharing her with all of us. She was my sister-in-Christ. I will miss you dearly Bertha Hatchett. Rest peacefully.

Prayerfully In Christ & In Love,
Gwen Whitehead
