Family-Placed Death Notice

Mr. J. Byron Benson, 85, of Alpharetta, died February 4, 2005. Born to William and Ethel Benson, he spent 48 years with the Fulton County Public Works and was one of the last employees with the Milton County Public Works before it merged with Fulton County. He was a member of the Alpharetta Masonic Lodge 235 F & AM and the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Wyatt, Dean and Forrest Benson. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Hall Benson; daughter Becky Roe of Alpharetta, granddaughter, Stacey Levantis and her husband Stamatis, three great-grandchildren, Sophia, Alexa and Nicholas James Levantis all of Woodstock; sister-in-law, Marie Benson Lyon, Sun City, FL,, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 6, at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Larry Eubanks and Rev. Johnny Purcell officiating. Interment Alpharetta City Cemetery. Alpharetta Masonic Lodge in charge of the service at graveside.The family will recieve friends on Saturday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 p.m. at Northside Chapel Funeral Directors, 12050 Crabapple Rd., Roswell, 770-645-1414
