Casey Motter Obituary
The Braves called Motter "the voice of Truist Park." Motter, a Smyrna native, started as a PA announcer for his son's youth football games in Peachtree City. Former Braves assistant general manager Frank Wren heard him at a game and asked him to audition for the Braves' role.
First baseman Matt Olson also grew up a Braves fan and went to games at Turner Field.
"Atlanta has always been a good place as far as the gameday experience. I only was a fan at Turner. It's always been a place that cares about the fan experience and does it the right way and keeps fans engaged. It's a sad, sad thing."
Braves manager Brian Snitker said he will miss Motter's booming voice.
"You get used to it every night," Snitker said. "'Helloooo baseball fans!' ... He'll be missed, that's for sure."

Many of my fondest memories occurred at home Braves games. Casey played a role in each of those memories. He did his job so well. So sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Casey Monday with his wife Debbie on a deep sea fishing trip to Gulf Shores and we had the best three days together. They hold a special place in my heart Thanks to both of you I´ll never forget these days.

Got to know Casey when he would announce baseball games at McIntosh High School. While the Braves were at spring training, he would want to get some time in calling games before the start of the Brave's season.
Our players and the visiting teams enjoyed hearing Casey announce their names and play his sound effects. Casey would make tapes for teams to use announcing players as they came to the plate. He did this for many youth programs around the Fayette and Coweta area when he resided here with his family.
Casey was a kind and humble man who loved his job announcing for the Braves.
He worked our games like a pro, and I always enjoyed sitting in the press box and watching him do his thing.
Going to be a little strange going to Braves games and not hearing his voice going throughout the stadium.

When I got the news today of Casey's passing, I immediately felt this overwhelming feeling of loss. I am a lifelong fan of everything Braves and as a result, I have this incredible loyalty to the franchise. The Braves have given me such amazing joy all of my 52 years . I am oh so grateful for so many wonderful memories. Although I never had the privilege of meeting Casey, his role in the organization brought so many of others, just like myself, an indescribable sense of joy each time we came to the ballpark. He gave all of us in Braves Country an unforgettable experience at both Turner Field and Truist Park. His legacy is priceless. God bless your family. All of us are much, much better off to have had time with him. May God give you all comfort in this difficult time.
