FOX, Charlotte

Charlotte Frances Fox passed away on April 17, 2025, at the age of 82. She was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on September 23, 1942 to Blanche and George Richard Fox. Charlotte attended the Girls Preparatory School (GPS) in Chattanooga and Emory University in Atlanta where she graduated in 1964.

After graduation she worked at the investment brokerage firm, E.F. Hutton. In 1968, she was hired by Alpha Research and the investment management firm, Montag & Caldwell as an assistant to Solon Patterson, who was in charge of creating Montag's first growth mutual fund, the Alpha Fund. Initially Charlotte was the head of the securities trading operation of the fund. As the fund and the firm grew, she was promoted several times, ultimately to Vice President in charge of all securities trading for both Alpha Research and Montag & Caldwell.

In 1972, Charlotte was selected an Outstanding Young Woman of America. She was nominated by the Emory University Alumni Association in recognition of her contributions to the betterment of her community, profession and country.

As a child, Charlotte spent many summers at Camp Nakanawa in Tennessee, which she loved. She became adept at a number of sports, but tennis in particular. She continued to enjoy tennis for most of her adult life.

After retiring, she and her partner and closest friend, Jean Roberts, enjoyed traveling and took many trips all over the world. They also enjoyed their vacation home in North Carolina, where they spent summers away from the Atlanta heat.

Charlotte is survived by her partner, Jean Roberts; brother, George Fox and wife, Juanita; nephew, Ansley and wife, Crista; and their daughters, Hannah and Megan.

After cremation, Charlotte's ashes will be interred in the Memorial cemetery at All Saints' Episcopal Church in downtown Atlanta. Funeral Services will be announced at a later date.
