Processing so much pain, it actually took me this long for me this long for me to say something about the death of my sister... and I still am at a loss. Christina, I don't know what happened. You had this instinct for the brilliant... After all, you not only introduced me to Rush and Pink Floyd, but you championed my own efforts at singing! You were the meanest and kindest sister ever. Such a jerk and such a joy. I miss you and love you. What do we do since you've left?

I worked with Christina at GE Energy Rentals, and then left. I came back to GE in Aug of 2008 and saw Christina a few times getting in the elevator but could never catch up with her at work. She was a beautiful, friendly, funny, and sweet young woman. Brant, you and the rest of the family are in my prayers.

I just found this while searching for old classmates. I am so sorry to learn of Christina's passing. I graduated from Penfield HS with her in '92 and I will always remember her as smiling, energetic, bright and kind...I can't recall her ever saying anything bad about anyone, she was one of the nicest people I ever met.

It's unfortunate for us that God needed another angel. I think of Christina often & can't help but smile. Christina always made you feel special, she was a true & wonderful friend. I thought of Christina today, it's beautiful outside and I know she'd be doing cartwheels & back hand springs around the house. We'd be picking on Angie or chasing Ryan around after swinging in the basement of course. Although our time was cut short due to the move to NY, I'll never forget the fantastic friendship she gave me. I have always missed her and forever will.

Brant, I just found out about Christina. I use to work with her at GE Energy Rentals. God, she loved you so much. She showed me your wedding photos when you all returned. She was a beautiful loving sweet caring woman and will be missed forever. She would talk about how much her dog "Wombat" that you both found her. Wow, so sorry of your loss. I just ran across a picture of her and I last week. Brant, my prayers are with you.
Heaven has gained a angel....

Christina was a student of mine back in 8th grade. Every year since I had her, I tell my students about Christina-her kindness, her enthusiasm, her motivation. I am so sorry for her family and friends, and for all of us-we can't afford to lose people like Christina.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I remember Christina doing back handsprings down the halls of PHS. I remember the prank we pulled against our substitute Ms. Decrosta. I remember her guitar, big hair, sleep overs, and coordinating what we would wear to school. I remember her smile and laughter. These are the memories I hold onto as I have learned about her tragic passing. She was a gift to all that she met. Regretfully, I lost contact with her since HS. I hope that she knows I am praying for her now, and wish her eternal peace. My wish is that all the people who have been left grief stricken find that same peace and healing. God Bless all of you.
With love~Donna

Dear Steve, Jane and Family,
My daughter Jennifer called last night and told me about Christina. I can't begin to tell you how sorry I am to hear the news. The two of you were always so family oriented and adored your children. The loss of one of them has got to be devastating. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I've experienced a great deal of loss since we last saw each other in Fenton, MI. Eric passed away 12/06/04 and my mother passed 12/12/04. I've moved to Tennessee to be near the kids/grandchildren. Best wishes to you all. Time heals wounds to some extent but not completely.

To The DeRyke Family,
I am so sorry to hear of Christina's
sudden passing. It was a shock to us all.
Christina and I drifted apart in middle and high school and I had not seen nor spoken to hear since graduation, but I will always remember the fun of the elementary school days (Birthday Parties and Olympics of the Mind). She was a dedicated and spirited soul as shown by the efforts she put into gymnastics and her constant smile. No words can ease your grief but know that she will be missed by many and touched the lives of even more. Take comfort in each other and find strength from your happy memories.
Our thoughts are with you during this time of sorrow.

First and foremost, all of my sympathies to the family and loved ones of Christina. I can't imagine your loss or sorrow with her untimely passing.
To my dearest Christina. I'm so greatful that you found me last spring and we talked for the first time in almost 14 years. We were both so excited to hear each others voices. I'm so glad that we had the chance to catch up, but it was also more than that. We both had a chance as adults to reflect back on our childhood years of friendship. It means so much to me that you told me that I was the best friend that you had ever had. I'm so glad that I had the chance to tell you that I still do and will always love you as much as when we were inseperable kids that grew up in each others homes. I'm so glad that we had the chance to have that conversation, but so sad that it's the last. It was wonderful to reflect back on our memories. I'm so greatful for that phone call. Last week when I learned of your passing, I cried into the early hours for you. I cried so much for your loss at such a young age. But I also cried for all that you leave behind. I have never known anyone so internally beautiful. You leave an open gap. Your smile, your kindness, your loyalty, your laugh, your kindred spirit, your musical passions and so much more, but more than anything, your pure genuineness. Thank you Christina for loving me. You made a difference in my life that will always be with me. Until I see you again, I pray that you are at peace. God Bless you and all that you have left behind. I love you!

I am so sorry to Christina's family on their loss. While it has been a long time since I spoke with her, her personality made a lasting imprint that many will never forget. A few of us who turned 18 early in senior year attempted to go to a "real" club using our real licenses. She was the one who forgot hers, but she was also the one who drove! We had a good chuckle over that and poked fun at her all night! She laughed right along with us though! It was infectious! She had such a sparkle and zest for life that are hard to find. I will remember her forever.

Christina was a classmate of mine at Penfield High School and was a constant source of levity, wit, inspiration and hope. There was nothing she couldn't do and in no way did she ever feel that her life was limited. She treated everyone with respect and she gave sincerity and companionship freely. She was a wonderful human being and I will continue to pray for her and her family. God Bless you, Christina.

I went to high school with Christina and am incredibly saddened to hear of her passing. I have not seen her since graduation but remember such fun times we had together. I will remember her cheerful smile and incredible personality and laugh. You could not help but be happy around Christina. I remember how fun she was at a get together at my house probably some 20 years ago and us joy riding in her parents Chevy Astro...Christina was a rare gem. My thought and prayers are with her family.

At 3:56 pm on December 18TH, the exact moment of the time of Your Birth in 1973, we laid a little gift, card & a picture of you beside your grave as we mourned and longed to hug you, kiss and touch you once more. We wished to hear you laugh once again as we would watch you blow out the candles ...35 this year. We wept and held on to each other, afraid to let go, yet hoping that when we opened our eyes you would be beside us, alive and well. Our dearest, precious daughter Christina, we miss you so very much. In time we will be with you once again. Until then our Dear Angel, remember how much we love you.

Today is Christina's 35th birthday. I know there are a lot of family members and friends feeling great sadness today that they can not do the things that they have done in the past to make her day special.
I wish Christina could have made it to see this day. I don't believe she ever realized how much she was loved by the people who knew her. I have never in my life met someone who had such a positive effect on those around them. Christina radiated beauty both internally and externally.
This is a hard time of year with her birthday and the upcoming holidays, and I pray for those who have been left to deal with this loss.
I also trust that Christina will have a beautiful birthday in a new place.

Dear Steve and Jane,
I am so very sorry. I will always remember the day I first met Christina. You had recently moved to Rochester, and my husband and I were about to move to our first house. I stopped by your house to pick up some of your moving boxes. Christina helped me figure out how to collapse the large closet boxes. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I met Christina several months ago and loved her from the moment I met her. She brightened up the room every time she would walk in. She once shared with me that she wished she were one of the models in the magazines we like to look up to and how she had always felt that way! I would just laugh as Christina had so much beauty and much more stunning than any model in a magazine. She had so much heart and soul – such a kind spirit. She touched my life for a short, brief time- but I will never forget her. Gods love to her family.
