PAEZ, Dr. Daniel Greensboro, NC - Dr. Daniel F. Paez, MD, 79, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Beacon Place in Greensboro of heart failure. He was born May 23, 1932 in Columbia, South America. Dr. Paez attended Universidad National de Columbia, where he graduated with honors then specialized in Internal Medicine. He practiced medicine in Bogota, Columbia, as well as served as professor for the University. He was then recruited by the State Hospital System in Kentucky. Ultimately he would call Atlanta, GA his home for nearly 40 years. Dr. Paez had a successful private practice in Decatur, GA and was closely affiliated with Dekalb Medical Center. He was deeply loved and highly regarded by his patients and the medical community for many years. His passion throughout his life was practicing medicine, which he did until 5 years ago, when he retired and moved to Greensboro, NC with his lovely wife, Carmen. Dr. Paez is survived by his wife, Carmen Ribon; sons, Daniel Jr. of Greensboro, NC; Andres and his wife Julie of Eagle River, WI; his daughter Carmen and her husband, Mac Carpenter, of Atlanta, GA; and his 5 grandchildren, Megan, Jeremy, Christopher, Jenna and Addison. A Mass will be held at 11am, April 13, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Beacon Place, 2502 Summit Ave, Greensboro, NC 27405.
