Mr. Cartwright was a 1972 graduate of Walker High School in Dekalb County where he was a member of the Junior Civitan Club as well as the varsity football, baseball, and swimming teams. Upon graduation, he had 27 scholarship offers to play college football and 3 to play professional baseball. Senator Herman Talmadge also recommended Mr. Cartwright for a position at the United States Naval Academy, where the deceased joined the Navy football team. In 1974, Mr. Cartwright transferred to the Georgia Institute of Technology to pursue his football and baseball interests as well as a degree in electrical engineering. Following his graduation in 1976, he spent several years in the automated bakery controls industry before joining Allison-Smith Company, an Atlanta-based electrical engineering and contracting firm where he later served as Executive Vice President. Mr. Cartwright became an innovator in the installation of critical power distribution systems for many of the nation's leading data centers and telecommunication companies. His peers admired him for his dogged determination and boundless energy. Known for a passionate commitment to his work, Mr. Cartwright brought his competitive spirit into all facets of his life. His unselfish attitude and positive outlook inspired others to fulfill their own life's work with the same generosity and optimism. Mr. Cartwright served as Chairman of the Board of Atlanta Academy, a non-denominational K-8 private school. He also served on the Labor/Management Committe for the Atlanta Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association. Above all, David Cartwright was praised for the love and selflessness that he showed to his wife and four children. I had just learned about David'd passing and I wanted to express my sincere condolences to the entire Cartwright Family. I had the pleasure of working with David during the mid-90's in the telecom field, and even though we didnt stay in contact over the years, I will always remember his positive-upbeat attitude and of course

his warmth and friendliness--he was simply a great guy and I feel blessed to have known him.

My wife and I both grew up with and graduated from Walker High School with David. We both remember David as a caring person and one that you could count on as always being there for you. I played Little League baseball at the "BALL PARK", as well as football and baseball with David in high school. The last time we saw David was in Asheville, NC several years ago when he had taken Lee Ann to Grove Park Inn for the weekend. I think it was for Valentine's Day. We were with friends, and spoke with David and Lee Ann for only a few minutes(we know how precious that little time alone can be). Judy and I both talked about how good it was to see David again. We just learned today about David passing away. We just wanted to let you know how much we thought of David. Judy and I are proud to have called David a friend, one that we grew up with and those friends and memories will never be forgotten. As you know, David will always be rememberd for the giving and caring person he was. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I am an Electrical Engineer who worked with David on projects in the 1990s. David was a wonderful, an exceptional person with which to work.

He would have been wildly successful in any endeavor. I am thankful that I was able to know him in his chosen field.

May he rest in peace.

I will never forget the day I first met David as the "new guy" at Allison-Smith Company, so many years ago. Little did I know at the time that he would have such an impact in our industry. He was always eager to learn and would always call to ask about what was new in the Power Quality field as soon as he heard about something. I am proud to have called him a friend and will miss him dearly. I take comfort in knowing that the next time I will be seeing him we will be celebrating in God's presence.

I am sorry to hear about David's passing. While working in Atlanta, I had the pleasure of working with him as a supplier. His professionalism in the way he conducted his business was always a pleasure.

We are still searching for the words to convey how deeply sorrowful the news of David's death has left us. Most of all, to Helen and Buddy, facing yet another loss of a child, there are no words of comfort, no phrases of support strong enough to ease this burden. No parents should endure this suffering. Please know we care so very much and wish your sorrows could somehow be a terrible dream from which you might awaken.
