Family-Placed Death Notice
BECK, Derrick Homegoing celebration for Derrick Lawayne Beck will be Saturday, February 9, 2008, 1 p.m. at New Hope Ministries, 2999 Flat Shoals Rd., Decatur. Rev. Richard A. Leaphart, Pastor, Rev. Beverly Heard officiating. Interment, Kennedy Memorial. Remains in state at Church 11:00 a.m. Family will assemble at residence at 12 noon. Survived by his father, Walter L. Barden, two sisters, Lakeysa (Daniel) Sims, Chena (Derrick) Sanders, brother, Anthony (Marie) Griffin, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wake TONIGHT from 7-8 p.m. at New Hope Ministries. Grissom-Eastlake Funeral Home, 227 East Lake Dr. (at Memorial Dr.) 404-373-3191.

I was just told today of Derricks passing, and I am sadden that I could not attend his homegoing services. I did want to let the family know that you will be in my prayers, and if there is anything that I can do please do not hesitate to contact me.

Derrick, You will be greatly missed, you just came back into our lives and now you're gone again. we will never say good bye just later, because we will see you again. My deepest sympathy goes out to your siblings Chena, Lakeysa and your brother Anthony you are now another part of us that are know gone. Chena and Walt the family is in such disbelief, that our loved one has left us in such a tragedic way.but we know God choose our battles. if he brouht us to it he will bring us through it. we need to stay strong. and stay prayful and God will reveal to us that Derrick has not left us in vein.and that he is in a better place. I know that Dollie and Nay-Nay have welcomed him with loving arms and Grandma too!! stay blesssed and be encouraged..

I met Derrick "beck" over 20 years ago. He was very close friends with my ex brother in law-Derrick Flagg. I am very sorry for your loss. I can still see becks smile...It could light up a room. I am praying for your family and may you find comfort in Gods words to keep you strong during this difficult time.
