Family-Placed Death Notice

Doris Rosenbaum, 85, of Atlanta, died January 3, 2008. Doris was born in New York City, earning her undergraduate degree from Hunter College and a Masters from Columbia University. She married Oby Rosenbaum in 1948 and moved to West Hartford, CT where she raisedher family, volunteered at Newington Children's Hospital providing many hours of service and was a dear friend to many. In 1987, she and Oby moved to Atlanta to be near their eldest child's family. She continued her community service at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta which earned her the national Golden Rule Award. She loved children and especially reached out to those in need. Doris was a devoted wife of 53 years to Oby Rosenbaum, who died in 2002. Survivors include her three children and their families; Sheila and Michael Dalmat, grandchildren Darin Dalmat and Alexis Dalmat; Bert and Laurie Rosenbaum, granddaughter Heather Rosenbaum; Faye Rosenbaum and Michael Chaikind, grandchildren Jeremy Chaikind and Sarah Chaikind; brother, Stan Greiss; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, 1001 Johnson Ferry Rd, Atlanta, GA 30342 or Alzheimer's Research Foundation. Graveside services will be Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 12 noon at Arlington Memorial Park with Rabbi Analia Bortz officiating. Arrangements by Green Lawn Jewish Funeral Services ay H.M.
